I would recommend GoldCo for Gold and Silver IRA investors
I called GoldCo and they were helpful from the start. I had a lot of questions about rolling over my old 401k to a Gold IRA and they answered every single one of them. Now, Goldco doesn't have the lowest prices out there but they compensate with great support. I would recommend Goldco to anyone that wants great service and support and doesn't mind paying a premium for it.

Company Info & Background

Goldco (goldcopreciousmetals.co) is a Woodland Hills, California-based precious metals dealer and IRA company founded over a decade ago back in 2006. The company focuses almost exclusively on dealing gold and silver coins that are IRA-approved to customers who have a new or pre-existing Precious Metals IRA account. Goldco demonstrates its commitment to customers’ satisfaction and well-being in taking enough time to comprehend the objectives and investment goals of all of their would-be clients. The company provides detailed information in the form of eBooks and videos to assist them in building up a precious metals portfolio that will achieve their goals.

The company claims that its relationships and business model is constructed entirely on trust and the rapport established between the clients and their personal Gold and Silver IRA experts. Their impressive across-the-board ratings from the trusted consumer review sites like the BBB, BCA, Trustlink, Trustpilot, and Consumer Affairs demonstrate their commitment to these ideals in every aspect of their business and to the precious metals industry.

Goldco Management Team

Founder Trevor Gerszt

The company’s founder Trevor Gerszt has been enthusiastic about gold and precious metals since he was born in the world’s second-biggest gold producer nation South Africa. Gerszt passed his time as a young man collecting numismatic gold coins. He was fortunate to grow up in the company of a family that boasted considerable experience in coin collecting. This helped him to attain useful insight into the king of precious metals at a young age.

In 2006, Gerszt established his own gold dealing firm called Gold Co in Woodland Hills, California. His goal was to aid clients who were looking for an honest partner in adding precious metals to their retirement IRA accounts.

CEO Brenda Whitman

Current CEO Brenda Whitman has been with Goldco for nearly five years. Until February of 2018, she served as the Chief Operations Officer from mid-2017. She originally joined Goldco in May of 2015 when she signed on as the Director of IRA Services.

Whitman brought a wealth of outside experience to Goldco when she arrived from the Capital Gold Group. In her 10 year tenure at this gold dealership and IRA company, she served in capacities ranging from Vice President to Senior Controller to Director of IRA Services. While at Capital Gold Group, she managed a National Affiliate Program that helped financial professionals who wanted to add physical gold as an option for their clients to reduce their portfolio volatility all the while managing their risk within their investment and retirement portfolios. She did this with an eye on teaching them to preserve their clientele’s value of their retirement and long-term investments and savings.

Goldco Education and Customer Satisfaction

Goldco may not be as big on customer education as some rivals like Regal Assets, but they certainly do give considerable attention to this important aspect of the gold buying process. Their education is significant and found under a drop down menu header entitled “Knowledge Section.” It starts with prices on the precious metals and includes eBooks and videos, along with a useful Frequently Asked Questions page.

Their eBooks cover such topics as “10 Reasons the Dollar Will Crash,” “10 IRA and 401k Mistakes You Are Making,” “The American IRA and 401k Crisis,” “How China Will Destroy Your IRA or 401k,” “The Truth About Home Storage IRAs,” and “How to Buy Gold and Silver.”

Their video section is also extensive, including such timely topics as “Things Are Looking Bleak for European Markets,” “America’s Monumental Retirement Dilemma,” “Five Threats to Your Retirement,” “Invest in Hard Assets,” “Stock Market Crashes,” and “Can You Trust Mega Banks?” The FAQ’s focus exclusive on Gold IRA questions such as “Why do I need a custodian to administer the precious metals in my IRA?” and “How do I roll over my existing IRA or 401k to a Gold IRA?”

The company makes it a point to state that they “maintain the highest standards for customer satisfaction.” Judging by their almost exclusively five-star reviews from the likes of TrustLink and Trustpilot, this appears to be a valid boast on their part. One thing we did not see on their site anywhere was a Gold Buyback program.

Goldco Custodian and Storage

Goldco does not specify any preferred vault storage partners on their company website. They state that they will help you to transfer your new purchases into a secured vault that lies in an IRS-approved depository. Since they insist that there is no co-mingling of precious metals in this secure facility, it can only be one of a handful of national storage vault facilities, like Brinks Storage or IDS in Delaware.

The company website does not mention any specific partnered IRA custodian. Pertaining to an IRA custodian, the company states the following:

“Gold IRA assets need to be stored with a custodian per IRS regulations. Working with precious metals investing experts, like those at Goldco, will help you find a custodian experienced with gold IRA investing to make sure your self-directed IRA is set up correctly.”

Goldco Products

Goldco is unusual in that it appears to offer a more extensive lineup of IRA-approved silver coins than it does of IRA-approved gold ones. They do not feature any platinum or palladium coins at this time. Any parties interested in platinum or palladium will have to look elsewhere.

They also do not feature any gold or silver bullion bars or ingots. Goldco is focusing exclusively on Gold and Silver IRA products, so it does not feature any collectible or rare coins that would interest numismatists. This is somewhat surprising given the founder’s long-time background as a coin collector personally.
