NOTE: As of Q4 2023, Carnivore Trading is no longer in business.

Trading stocks can be challenging and complicated for the most experienced investors. For newbies, it can be an even more daunting task. That’s where Carnivore Trading comes in.

The subscription-based platform provides you with frequent suggestions on daily trading. Carnivore Trading, or Carnivore, is a trading recommendation service that helps you become an active and pro trader over time.

So, is Carnivore Trading a legit platform? And, what exactly do they offer? Let’s find it out in our comprehensive Carnivore Trading review today.

(Note: If you’ve already made up your mind and want to sign up today, use our 10% discount code to save every month on your Carnivore Trading subscription.)

What is Carnivore Trading?

Carnivore Trading is a trading recommendation service that sends you daily trading updates, market news, and some insights over emails on managing their portfolio. In addition, you will also get real-time SMS alerts of their trading of shares.

At the end of each trading day, you will get a lengthy document called “Daily Wrap”. It contains their daily market observation and the latest updates to their trading portfolio. The platform’s primary purpose is to assist you in making investment decisions

What Carnivore Trading is Not

Right off the bat, you may think that Carnivore would want to manage your portfolio at some points. However, they have strongly claimed not to do so. According to Carnivore Trading’s website, they will NOT manage your portfolio or charge you anything apart from the regular subscription fees.

Since they are not managing your portfolio, there is no question of trading commission either. Carnivore simply tells you its trading strategy and portfolio information, which you may use or ignore. Importantly, they do it for a fee

Note that Carnivore Trading is not a stock trading software

The platform recommends you use commission-free trading platforms. Commission-free trading helps you trade frequently and act as if you won’t have to pay every time you buy or sell a stock.

Carnivore Trading Strength and Benefits

Carnivore Trading offers quite a few benefits and helps you grow as a trader. Let’s quickly go through these:

  • Focus on learning: Carnivore does not manage your portfolio. Instead, they provide you with good educational resources and let you decide on Carnivore investing strategies. So you can educate yourself and learn how to invest with some good trading tips.
  • Regularity: We have found Carnivore very regular in sending the daily wrap, trading tips email, and SMS alerts. They deliver as they promise.
  • Fun language: Carnivore prepares the daily market summary to suit entry-level traders. You don’t need any advanced knowledge to have a grasp. Yet, you won’t find it boring or technical. Carnivore writes the content with a friendly, informal, and humorous tone that keeps you glued.
  • Transparency: The way Carnivore sends you portfolio updates is very transparent. They let you know immediately during the trading hours when they sell or buy a stock or position that you can replicate the action if you like. It’s super-convenient to copy-trade with Carnivore investing.
  • Emphasis on fundamentals: Carnivore typically plays it safe when choosing its portfolio. They rely on companies with good fundamentals and stable liquidity.
  • Free resources: Carnivore hosts a rich knowledge base on the blog section of its website. You will find plenty of articles explaining different Carnivore investing strategies and insights on how to study the market.

Are there any Carnivore Trading Cons?

It’s perhaps worth mentioning that Carnivore Trading has some downsides too.

Carnivore does not tell you the true identity of its management team. So, you may often hesitate to copy-trade with Carnivore. The platform attempts to offset this issue by telling you the brief profiles of their team without disclosing any names.

The next thing that caught our attention was their fees. Depending on your trade, you may sometimes find the subscription fees a little too high. Carnivore highlights its successful portfolios in the past couple of years and tells you that you may easily get a solid return.

The platform claims you will earn at least five times the subscription fee by following the suggested trading strategies. However, most vetted and regulated investment professionals would deny such a claim because the stock market is always risky, and it’s not ideal for predicting such a hefty return.

Is Carnivore Trading Legit?

When you question the legitimacy of Carnivore, there are a few things to consider. First, as they don’t manage your trading portfolio, your subscription fees are the only money at risk. Second, they don’t explicitly ask you to follow their trading moves. Instead, they leave the trading decision to you.

That said, we have looked into what others tell about Carnivore Trading.

You can access the Daily wraps from your Carnivore dashboard. Daily wraps for each of the trading days become available within a few hours after the day’s trading closes.

Who is Behind Carnivore?

Carnivore Daily Wrap also includes more detailed profiles of their team members compared to the ones you find on their website. Here’s what we have found about the three Carnivore traders:

  • Dutch: Dutch has gathered two decades of work experience at Wall Street before joining Carnivore. He has developed a behavioral-based stop-loss trading system that works with an algorithm-based pricing target and time frame.
  • Swamp Donkey: The person who coordinates the overall trading activities at Carnivore uses this pseudo name.
  • Trader Z: Trader Z is the mastermind of Carnivore, who learned trading while working under the Dutch’s supervision. According to Carnivore, Trader Z developed an algorithm of his own to detect market dynamics for any specific stock. They have named the system “Vector Nostradamus.”

Carnivore Trading Price

Carnivore Trading’s pricing plan is pretty straightforward. There is no complicated and different pricing tier. The platform charges you a monthly subscription fee of $250.

If you pay for the whole year at once, you will get two months of subscription for free. So you will have to pay $2,500 for the annual subscription.

Carnivore Trading Trial

Before making a payment of $250 you would most likely wonder if there is a trial version or some options for you to check the service out, including 10% off by using this Carnivore Trading discount code. Carnivore Trading offers a trial period of 14-day, which, according to them, is risk-free

Screenshot from Carnivore Trading's official website

You must enter your valid credit card information when you sign up for your Carnivore account. However, Carnivore does not charge you instantly. Instead, they will keep your card details and only charge it after the 14-day trial period

You will get the relevant services during your trial period and may choose to keep it or cancel it within 14 days without incurring any fees or costs.

Is it safe to subscribe to Carnivore Trading?

So, will it be safe to provide your credit card information to a platform you know little about? What if they don’t let you cancel the subscription and still charge you after the cancellation?

As Carnivore Trading does not reveal any specific information about who is managing the platform, these doubts are pretty rational.

We have not received any report that Carnivore has made any unauthorized transactions. During our trial of the platform, we found the cancellation process simple and hassle-free.

That said, even if the unfortunate event occurs, you may still request a charge-back from your credit card issuer bank and claim a refund soon.

NOTE: Carnivore Trading is no longer in business. Nevertheless, many recent trading software review websites, such as Money Crashers, list Carnivore among their top-rated products for trading. There is also some degree of ambiguity as to whether Carnivore is still operational, as their official YouTube channel has continued to upload new content as recently as December 2023.

Summary: Should I Use Carnivore Trading?

We have highlighted the features, pricing, pros, and cons of Carnivore trading so that you can make an informed decision. Carnivore Trading’s 14-day free trial may be an option for you to check the platform out yourself.

We recommend you check other similar platforms that offer excellent educational resources similar to Carnivore Trading. Confused about where to start? Check out our exclusive Rockwell Trading review now.
