The Crypto Code (TCC): Mastermind (formerly Crypto Swap Profits) is one of the flagship offerings from the Utah-based cryptocurrency trading education company. TCC Mastermind is a training program for novice crypto investors and beginner traders to use highly automated methods to earn profits in both bull and bear cryptocurrency markets.
Founder Joel Peterson claims that Mastermind helps customers make money in the crypto space, whether in the midst of a 2017-style bull run or a 2021-style sell-off. These are bold claims. Naturally, then, we wanted to investigate.
That’s why we signed up for TCC Mastermind to see whether Joel’s trading program and crypto education service truly lives up to its hype. Read on to find out whether we recommend it.

TCC & The “WaveBot” Strategy
The cornerstone of The Crypto Code is Joel’s proprietary “WaveBot” strategy, which his webinar courses unpack and are designed to demonstrate as effective. This is an automated program executed by WaveBot.AI to buy and sell orders without human input. The bot seeks entry and exit points on the fly, and completes trades when profit opportunities arise—regardless of whether you’re in an inflationary economy or a down market.
The beauty of WaveBot.AI is that it works around the clock to make you money. You can literally sit back and watch the bot execute trades 24/7. The target gains of The Crypto Code’s WaveBot strategy is between 0.50% and 1.25% in profit per day, compounding over time.
Needless to say, this is a bold claim. On a $10,000 initial investment, 1.25% daily returns amount to $125 of cash in your pocket every day, without having to lift your finger. As your portfolio grows, so too do your daily returns due to the power of compounding interest. After a few months of daily compounding, you’ll have more than doubled your principal investment.
Is the WaveBot.AI Strategy Legit?
Like any algorithmic trading program, WaveBot.AI is not 100% accurate. If it was, every hedge fund in the world would be hijacking the technology to rake in billions for their shareholders. According to Crypto Journey Blog, the expected daily profit of WaveBot is 0.50% to 1.25%, compounding every day, which implies a success rate of over 50%.
In fact, Joel Peterson posted a video to YouTube in which he demonstrates the apparently incredible win rate of the WaveBot formula, which we’ve linked below.
Joel lists off a series of winning trades that WaveBot pulled off that day—without garnering a single loss—most of which ranged between $5 and $10 in profit. In total, however, his cumulative profits were about $275 by the end of the day.
While we couldn’t independently verify the truth of Joel’s claims, the video is a real demonstration of the profit-winning potential of the WaveBot algorithm. Nonetheless, it’s important to keep in mind that Joel’s success on that particular day may not be representative of the strategy as a whole. As is the case with any trading methodology, you should expect at least some losses when utilizing this system.
Note that, as of Q4 2023, there are numerous new reviews of WaveBot that seem to indicate that the service is indeed a legit one. For instance, in this third-party Crypto Code review published in The Tribune in June 2023. The same goes for this review and company profile posted on The Bankless Times website in May of the same year.

Joel Peterson
The Crypto Code was created by Joel Peterson, a native of Saratoga Springs, Utah. Joel is a self-proclaimed SEO expert and digital marketer and serial entrepreneur who has a reputation in certain online circles for his ability to craft best-selling online courses in a number of different niche fields—including cryptocurrencies and algorithmic trading.
While we were writing this product review, we actually received an email from a colleague of Joel’s who sent us a personalized video made by Joel himself. The video contained a walkthrough of one of Mastermind‘s new features. We thought this was an awesome gesture, and we can vouch that Joel certainly knows trading fundamentals at an advanced level.
Unfortunately, we know little about Joel himself. None of his personal social accounts accredit him as a cryptocurrency expert. Rather, he appears to be a regular, self-made family man who has a strong personal interest in designing educational courses geared toward customers who also want to live a financially free life.
There is no other publicly available information regarding other members of the The Crypto Code’s management team, nor is there a company LinkedIn or Crunchbase profile under its name or its former name, Crypto Swap Profits.
